Pigeon on the Roof

Lieber die Taube auf dem Dach als den Spatzen in der Hand

Woodprint & Serigraphy, 40 cm x 60 cm, 2025

What we see is a portrait of the collaboration between a group with pigeons from Tallinn and the artist. By pecking sunflower seeds from the wood plate, the birds created a portrait of unexpected communication.

Scarecrow gone wild, Braded Straw and Branches, 250 cm x 70 cm x 70 cm

by Nikola Šmeralová and Merit Himmelreich, 2025

This artwork was made in collaboration with Nikola Šmeralováon on the Paljasaare Peninsula in Tallinn Bay. It was installed on a fence that protects the natural reserve from people entering the wild. It talks about  romanticising the wild nature as something opposed to culture, as well as the human longing for the ability to fly and having a megnetic chin that tells us about the cardinal points.
